It’s more important that women aside some time from their busy schedule, for themselves for their health and happiness.

The Healing Wisdom of Ayurveda offers extensive knowledge for women to protect their health both physically and mentally. Ayurveda clearly states that a healthy menstrual cycle, fertility, and menopause depend on maintaining doshas in a balanced way.

When reproductive health is affected stress level increases alarmingly. There is the feeling within that something is wrong and needs to be addressed immediately. The common approach is to treat the symptoms, but Ayurveda recommends to diagnose the root cause before it affects your reproductive system.

Here are a few steps to guide you in attaining a balanced lifestyle:

  1. Fight against Anemia:

Consume foods that are rich in Iron such as leafy greens, beetroot, spinach, nuts, apple, lemon etc.

  1. Protect from Cramps:

Avoid foods that are deep fried. Avoiding deep fried foods helps to ease your digestion and to avoid cramps. Do abyanga (oil bath) with sesame oil. Take proper rest, drink enough of water, and avoid heavy workouts.

  1. What to eat ?

➢   Home cooked meals

➢   Include nutritious vegetables.

➢   Identify a balanced diet that helps you properly digest meals and induce regular bowels. Because each individual has a unique Prakriti and Dosa system, what works for one person need not work for another.

  • Say NO to: Alcohol, tobacco and deep-fried, spicy, oily food
  • Herbs good for women’s health – Shatavari, Ashoka, Fenugreek, Cumin, Ashwagandha, Amalaki etc.
  1. Regular practice of Yoga:

Practice yoga regularly to keep yourself flexible and free from diseases. Some asana’s that will help women are – Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, matyasana, utrasana etc. Get help from a competent trainer who will prescribe a course appropriate for you.
